Vintage Report 2007

The 2007 Burgundy Briefing Vintage Report is an assessment of the 2007 vintage on the Côte d’Or and in Chablis. It is a pretty vintage for reds with perfumed Pinots, while the whites are racy and straight.
The report has, in recent years, become a valuable tool for buying the expensive wines of Burgundy, but remans true its original concept to be an engaging insight into the region, aimed at those who wish to keep informed about Burgundy’s latest vintage and its people.
The introductory vintage reports have become much longer in more recent vintages as I changed focus to make slightly fewer visits and collect more information for these reports and in particular the village and vineyards sections within them. The 2007 ‘vintage vantage point’ is more in-depth than in previous vintages, covering the points below, but not without the detail of more recent vintages. There were a record number of domaine visits for the 2006s. Katherine Richardson MW divided the red with me.

Tasting Notes
The bulk of the report consists of approximately 275 pages of tasting notes with introductions to the domaine or negoce (111 visits). The wines are evaluated and those which stood out in each cellar have been marked with an asterisk. The 2006 and 2006 vintage in Chablis was tasted at 14 domaines.
